Disasteroid

#812

Pronouns: Any

Reason behind name and number:

All through boot camp I was the "big faller" and generally just a disaster, crashing into things like an asteroid, hence DisAsteroid! 812 is the area code for my hometown phone number so a nod to where I came from.

Derby history:

Quad City Rollers 2025 - Present

Position:

all of them!

Other sports and hobbies:

weightlifting, TTRPGs, reading, crochet, gardening, video games

Injuries:

I broke my hand in summer 2025 taking a bad fall at practice, but otherwise have been very lucky.

When I’m not playing derby I’m a:

Agricultural Engineer by day. Pile of blankets on the couch by night.

Get Pumped Up Song:

Black Me Out by Against Me!

Fun fact:

I grew up with all sorts of pets, from alligators to horses to a parade of dogs of all sizes. My favorite was hatching baby snakes.

My greatest derby accomplishment is:

Surviving past day 1 of boot camp! Starting really was the hardest part for me. I couldn't stand on my wheels for the first 2 months.

If I could tell myself one thing when I started playing, I would say:

Lean into it! Everyone really wants you to be here and it will be so good for every part of your life. Take every chance to learn and tell your teammates how much you love them.
